Event Highlights

1:00pm-1:45pm: “How to Create and Organic Vegetable Garden” – Merikay Smith, Master Gardener
2:00pm-3:00pm: “Container Gardening” Activity – supervised by Emmalee June of Green Muslims.
3:00pm-4:00pm: Brief Presentations with Interactive Q/A sessions (children may participate in an arts and crafts activity in our kids’ area during this time)

PROGRAM DETAILS

1:00pm-1:45pm: “How to Create and Organic Vegetable Garden” – Merikay Smith, Master Gardener

2:00pm-3:00pm: “Container Gardening” Activity – supervised by Emmalee June of DC Green Muslims. Families and students will plant organic lettuce seeds in small containers with fresh compost and also learn how to take care of them. Containers can be placed on your windowsill and maintained with minimum effort. One container per family. Students receive SSL hours for entire program but they must attend container gardening activity

Drinks, fresh cooked veggies, and light refreshments will be served simultaneously at this time.

3:00pm-4:00pmBrief Presentations with Interactive Q/A sessions (children may participate in arts and crafts activity in kids’ area at this time)
