“Our Deen is Green!” Youth Outdoor Education Program

Green Muslims is excited to announce our annual “Our Deen is Green!” (ODIG) Youth Outdoor Education Program. This summer, we will embark on a new adventure to explore the outdoors and experience Allah’s creation.

We hope to inspire Muslim youth to grow closer to our deen and Allah by connecting environmental conservation and stewardship to the teachings of our beloved Prophet Muhammad (PBUH).

This year’s ODIG program is supported by the Chesapeake Bay Trust.

The Program

The ODIG program will be held on Saturday July 22nd, 2017 at Hard Bargain Farm 10 AM – 3 PM.  Youth ages 6 to 12 are eligible to participate, and we are currently accepting applications. We will select up to 50 participants.

Green Muslims can provide transportation to and from Hard Bargain Farm through a chartered bus. Bus stop locations will be announced later based on participants’ need.

Students will participate in interactive sessions that focus on how to conserve water, restore water quality, and prevent litter pollution in our communities.

Lunch and snacks will be provided.

Can parents participate? While we appreciate parental support, we want students to own their experience. If you have specific concerns, please feel free to contact us at contact@greenmuslims.org
