Beyond Halal

Beyond Halal is a website dedicated to exploring questions related to Islamic ethics and food. Halal is the Arabic word for permissible, and in dietary law it is used to refer to foods that are permitted for Muslims to eat.

GreenFaith is an interfaith coalition for the environment that was founded in 1992.  We work with houses of worship, religious schools and people of all faiths to help them become better environmental stewards.

Green Muslims of New Jersey

The Green Muslims of New Jersey is a community organization created by a group of Muslims in central Jersey who were concerned about the negative impacts to the environment during Ramadan. We aim to educate people about the importance of environmental stewardship, or “going green”, in Islam and implement ideas and strategies to solve problems regarding waste and over consumption.
