80. 'Abasa (He Frowned): 24-32

Let man consider the food he eats! We pour down abundant water and cause the soil to split open. We make grain grow, and vines, fresh vegetation, olive trees, date palms, luscious gardens, fruits, and fodder: all for you and your livestock to enjoy. (Abdul Haleem)

Then let mankind look at his food - How We poured down water in torrents, Then We broke open the earth, splitting [it with sprouts], And caused to grow within it grain And grapes and herbage And olive and palm trees And gardens of dense shrubbery And fruit and grass - [As] enjoyment [i.e., provision] for you and your grazing livestock. (Saheeh International)

Then let man look at his food, (and how We provide it): For that We pour forth water in abundance. And We split the earth in fragments, And produce therein corn, And Grapes and nutritious plants, And Olives and Dates, And enclosed Gardens, dense with lofty trees, And fruits and fodder,- For use and convenience to you and your cattle. (Yusuf Ali)

Let man, then, consider [the sources of] his food: [how it is] that We pour down water, pouring it down abundantly; and then We cleave the earth [with new growth], cleaving it asunder, and thereupon We cause grain to grow out of it, and vines and edible plants, and olive trees and date-palms, and gardens dense with foliage, and fruits and herbage, for you and for your animals to enjoy. (Muhammad Asad)

Let people then consider their food: how We pour down rain in abundance and meticulously split the earth open ˹for sprouts˺, causing grain to grow in it, as well as grapes and greens, and olives and palm trees, and dense orchards, and fruit and fodder— all as ˹a means of˺ sustenance for you and your animals. (Mustafa Khattab)

Let man therefore consider (the sources of) his food. We poured down rain abundantly, Then We cracked the earth open under pressure (of germination) And We made corn grow, And grapes and herbage, Olives and dates, Orchards thick with trees, And fruits and fodder: A provision for you and your cattle. But when the great calamity comes (Ahmed Ali)

Let man consider his food. [His own food has involved so many hands from the soil to the mouth. He must share the provision with others] For that We pour down water in abundance. And then We split the earth, split and cleave. And cause the grain to grow therein. And vineyards, and fresh vegetation. And olive trees and palm trees. And dense beautiful gardens. And fruits and grasses. Provision for you and your cattle. (Shabbir Ahmed)
